Quilt Show Positions Open

Thank you to the 2014 nominating committee for identifying candidates and conducting the election in October. Please extend your full support to Sally, Flo, Dawn and Cheryl over the next two years.

Kate and I are thrilled that the idea of Build-a-Quilt appeals to several members. There is still an opportunity to sign up in November and then you will have until after the holidays to decide on fabrics. The first block instructions will be given out in January. This quilt offers an opportunity to practice several skills – foundation piecing, English paper piecing, appliqué and of course basic piecing. It will be a real adventure!

Looking forward to our November meeting,
Val

I would like to remind everyone that we will have a speaker at the November meeting. A friend of mine, Karen Miller, will be speaking about her experiences with Moda Fabrics and their Bake Shoppe. Karen also has a mini trunk show for us. She is teaching at The Quilter's Corner in Ithaca too.

Thank you for supporting the newly elected officers. We look forward to serving the members of our guild and hope that you, too, will help us in this endeavor. Everyone can and should participate in club activities. I want to the thank the committee chairs who have helped out in so many ways over the past two or more years. If you have any interest in any committee chairmanship or desire to be on a committee, please let me know. We can not just rely on the same people to keep on giving. Marie P. has expressed an interest in moving on from the Library position. This position as we have discussed can be made much easier than it is presently. We need a couple of people to take on the Quilt Show. Ann H. has decided it is time for someone else to step up to the plate. She has a good routine and crew in place, we just need a chair and co-chair.  Please give some careful consideration as to what YOU can do for your quilt guild. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have will have more to say on the By-Laws Article IV at the meeting.

See you then, Sally A.

Enjoy the great fall weather when you can.....a long extension cord to the picnic table brings my machine outside.....A leaf or too might get appliqués into a seam but that' s creativity at its best. Marcy

AFTER LUNCH PROGRAM - Gail Williams

Lots of great plans for 2015 - use these links to print out the schedule!

Please click here for the 2015 Afternoon Program schedule as a PDF file.

Print it out and don't forget your lunch!

Remember to use only BATIK fabrics. All fabric should be washed and pressed prior to cutting the strips. You will need to have (21) twenty-one 2 1/2" strips. This will require approximately one and one-half yards of fabric. I usually get two yards and have a little extra for my own use.

November is any shade of green.

If you cannot bring your strips to the meeting, please arrange to have someone else bring them. If that doesn't work, be sure to bring them to the next meeting. The following will be the selections for each month:

November - Any shade of bright green
December - Pebbles and Sand Colors
January - Aqua or Blue
February - Any Color with contrasting bright markings

If you should have any questions, please don't hesitate to get me a call or send an email to quiltingmona@rochester.rr.com
Mona Fox (315) 781-2222.

I will not be at the November meeting as I will be out of town. Please see Linda DeClerck for paint chips, material, and directions.
She will have the list of names of the people participating for you to sign up.

We have quite a lot of people joining in. I'm happy to see your eagerness.

If you have any questions: Joan Danaher at jldanaher@gmail.com or 585-393-1956.
